I studied civil engineering. I was good at it, could follow the logic through to a correct answer, but that was where it stopped for me, nothing past "correct." What I actually wanted was underneath the whole time, and it eventually became a business built with my mate Danny, named after the golden ratio, 1.618, because I believe work made with real intention ends up looking right, planned or not.
Editing is the part I care about most. It's the actual tool I use to shape someone's story, and clients are paying us, in the end, to be listened to and represented properly. What I enjoy is the act itself, the rhythm of it, finding the actual story that's sitting inside a pile of footage nobody's looked at properly yet.
Working with Danny is the reason any of this holds together the way it does. He brings the eye for locations and framing, and having someone I trust that much in the edit room changes what we're able to take on.

I was fourteen the first time a film really got me, watching it with my mum on a school night, sitting in a dark room full of strangers having the same reaction I was. That feeling never left. I've been chasing it with a camera ever since.
Scouting locations is still my favourite part of the job. I like being out in the city, talking to people, finding the buildings and angles nobody else would frame a shot around. I'm not built for sitting still, and that restlessness ends up in the footage, it's energy translated into visuals. What matters to me is whether the story actually holds together once it's cut, whether a viewer stays with it.
Working with Amro is most of why any of this holds together. He's one of my best mates first, and someone I trust completely in how a production day actually runs, which is rarer than people think.
618 Media was established to solve the fragmentation of modern video production. Many agencies rely on a rotating door of freelancers, leading to inconsistent quality and slow timelines. We chose a different path by investing in a permanent Sydney-based team and our own cinema-grade gear. This vertical integration allows us to pivot quickly and maintain total control over the technical and creative output of every project.
By removing the middle-man, we ensure your budget goes directly onto the screen. We don't just capture footage; we build visual assets that function as business tools for brands across NSW.
When we say in-house, we mean it. Our team handles everything from creative direction and location scouting to 4K cinematography and professional lighting. This ensures that every project maintains a unified vision from the first script read to the final color grade.
Our post-production suite is equally integrated, featuring dedicated editors, motion graphics artists, and sound designers. This streamlined workflow allows us to support high-volume social campaigns and complex TVCs with the same level of technical precision and rapid turnaround times.
Let's discuss your next project. Our team is ready to help you plan, shoot, and edit your story.
